Brand New Year #

Welcome to 2010 y’ll. We are starting the year off with a whole bunch of awesome films for your enjoyment. But first, let me tell you about our big event for the month.

January Events #

Our first event of the year—and only event we have scheduled for January—is a screening of The Dark Side of Oz followed by The Wall. If you don’t already know, The Dark Side of Oz is a screening of the first portion of The Wizard of Oz with the normal soundtrack replaced by Pink Floyd’s album The Dark Side of the Moon. The album syncs up surprisingly well with the film. This is followed by Pink Floyd’s The Wall, based off their album by the same name. So come to the theatre on January 29th for a very Floydian night.

January’s Regular Screenings #

We begin the month with Ellen Paige’s new film about roller derby, Whip It, playing at followed by a crazy zombie comedy titled Zombieland screening at . Both films from to .

While Spike Jonze might not seem like the obvious choice to direct a children’s film, he does a great job in the recent adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s book Where The Wild Things Are, playing the second week of January at . Also playing that week is A Serious Man, the new Coen brothers comedy about a man about to lose his wife. That will be at . Both films from to .

From to we will be showing period drama Coco Avant Chanel at and The Informant! at .

At the end of the month Monty Python’s classic search for the holy grail will be showing from Wednesday to Sunday at except for on Friday because of The Dark Side of Oz / The Wall event. Also during that week will be The Men Who Stare at Goats at from Wednesday–Sunday inclusive.
